Danantara: Garuda to parent Citilink and Pelita Air in Q1 2026

JAKARTA – Chief Operating Officer of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Dony Oskaria, said the merger of state-owned airlines will be formally completed in the first quarter of 2026.
As a result, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) will become the parent company of Citilink and Pelita Air, which are currently subsidiaries of PT Pertamina (Persero).
“(The merger of) Garuda in the first quarter,” he said at the CNBC Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 event at Hotel Kempinski Jakarta, as quoted on Friday (12/2).
Dony explained that the consolidation of the two state-owned carriers would be carried out prudently, separating existing issues from the future business concept, as cited by cnbcindonesia.com.
“That is why I always say we must separate the problem from the concept; every business must be integrated within one ecosystem of our airlines,” he said.
He added that the public need not worry about the restructuring process within the Garuda Group.
According to him, improvements will continue, while Danantara as the main shareholder will keep monitoring Garuda’s business transformation.
“We will certainly monitor the transformation process of Garuda Indonesia so that it becomes better going forward,” he concluded. (DK/ZH)
