Boy Thohir sells 195 million ESSA shares, retains 13.41% stake

JAKARTA – The list of share ownership changes above 5% on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Monday (13/4) recorded prominent businessman Garibaldi Thohir selling 195 million shares of LPG and ammonia issuer PT Essa Industries Indonesia Tbk (ESSA).

The investor, widely known as Boy Thohir, executed the sale through PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk, reducing his ownership from 14.55% to 13.41%.

Next, Pandri Prabono-Moelyo, one of the directors of PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY), reduced his stake in the coal mining company by 50,000 shares. After selling through PT Mandiri Sekuritas, he still holds around 5.09% of the shares.

A reduction in holdings was also recorded by Citibank Hong Kong S/A Glencore International Investments Ltd, a foreign investor that sold 2.68 million shares of nickel mining issuer PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) via Citibank, N.A. Its ownership slightly declined to 6.39%.

Meanwhile, PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia continued to increase its stake in palm oil producer PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS). After acquiring 346 million NSSS shares on the previous trading day, the investor added another 300 million shares, bringing total ownership to 8.25%. The transaction was facilitated by PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia.

Investor PT Maybank Sekuritas Indonesia - Registrar purchased 84.41 million shares of oil and gas issuer PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), increasing its stake to 7.29%. The transaction was also facilitated by PT Maybank Sekuritas Indonesia.

Through PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, The Bank of New York Mellon, a U.S.-based foreign investor, acquired 18.50 million shares of state-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM). Its ownership now stands at 5.64%.

Two additional transactions came from the property sector.

PT Semarop Agung, via PT Indo Premier Sekuritas, acquired 1.34 million shares of PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (SMRA), bringing its total stake to 23.14%.

PT Paraga Arta Mida, through PT Amantara Sekuritas Indonesia, added 896,500 shares of PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk (BSDE), increasing its ownership to around 9.87%.

The final purchase came from investor Lo Kheng Hong, who added 1.04 million shares of tire manufacturer PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL). He purchased these via PT Sinarmas Sekuritas, bringing his ownership to 6.39%. (KD)
