ASII sets IDR 36 trillion capex for 2026, up 10% year on year

JAKARTA – PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) has set capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 36 trillion for 2026, about 10% higher than its 2025 realisation of IDR 32 trillion.
Director Hsu Hai Yeh said the increase reflects continued selective investment needs amid economic uncertainty.
“In 2026, we plan to increase our investment allocation by around 10% to approximately IDR 36 trillion. A more detailed capital allocation, including investment focus areas, will be disclosed after the strategic review process is completed,” Hsu said at the annual general meeting (AGM) press conference on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
In 2025, the largest portion of capex was allocated to the heavy equipment and mining business.
This year, however, ASII will prioritise maintenance needs as well as investments in strategic sectors, taking into account operational conditions and business opportunities.
“As long as these sectors offer promising prospects and open up synergies with Astra’s existing businesses, we will consider further investment,” said Rudy, ASII’s newly appointed president director following the 2026 AGM.
Management said its forward strategy balances strengthening its seven core business lines with developing new growth pillars.
The seven core segments include automotive and mobility; financial services; heavy equipment, mining, energy and construction; agribusiness; information technology; and infrastructure and property.
Over the longer term, ASII is preparing three new business pillars, including healthcare. At the group level, Astra now holds more than 20% in PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (HEAL) and has also invested in the digital health platform Halodoc.
Beyond healthcare, ASII—through PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) and its subsidiary PT Pamapersada Nusantara—has begun diversifying its mining portfolio into gold and nickel.
In addition, through the acquisition of PT Mega Manunggal Property Tbk (MMLP), Astra is also targeting the modern logistics warehouse industry, as well as data centres via a joint venture with Equinix. (DH/ZH)
