JAKARTA — PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (CNMA), operator of the Cinema XXI cinema chain, remained loss-making in the first quarter of 2026, although losses narrowed sharply by 88.3% year on year.

According to its latest financial statements, CNMA posted a net loss of IDR 8.2 billion for the period to March 2026, improving significantly from a loss of IDR 69.4 billion in the same period last year.

The improved performance was supported by an 18.2% rise in revenue to IDR 1.1 trillion. Box office ticket sales contributed 60.6%, while food and beverage (F&B) accounted for 32.6% of total revenue during the period.

Both core business segments expanded, with ticket revenue and F&B sales rising 14.3% and 15.9%, respectively, in the first quarter. Meanwhile, revenue from advertising and digital platforms surged by 277.6% and 29.2%.

The company attributed the stronger performance to robust momentum in domestic films during the first quarter of 2026.

“In the first quarter of 2026, seven Indonesian film titles each recorded more than one million viewers, up from three titles in the first quarter of 2025,” management said in a statement on Thursday (30/4).

Strong operating performance also lifted CNMA’s cash flow from operating activities, which rose from IDR 28.1 billion to IDR 106.6 billion in the period.

As of end-March 2026, CNMA reported total assets of IDR 6.72 trillion, with cash and cash equivalents of IDR 1.75 trillion. (ZH)
