JAKARTA — Entering 2026, PT Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk (ELPI) is preparing an international expansion while at the same time reinforcing its domestic market presence.
ELPI director Efily Kusumadewi said next year would mark the second phase of the company’s long-term plan through to 2030.
“We will add vessels in the Middle East and expand into the Asia-Pacific market, including Brunei and India,” Efily said on CNBC Indonesia’s YouTube channel.
The focus of international expansion will remain on the offshore segment, which is the company’s core business, taking into account competitive pricing and attractive market opportunities.
Meanwhile, in the domestic market, ELPI is in the process of building new vessels that are expected to begin operations in 2026–2027.
This step is aimed at ensuring vessel availability to support operations and meet domestic demand.
In pursuing international expansion, the company has highlighted the importance of adapting to local regulations, labour requirements and ship maintenance facilities.
ELPI also plans to establish partnerships with local counterparts in target countries to ensure smooth operations.
Efily added that despite challenges from geopolitical dynamics and fuel price volatility, the company remains optimistic.
A continued focus on efficiency, safety and operational reliability is expected to sustain ELPI’s competitiveness in both domestic and international shipping markets next year.
“With a strong foundation at home, international expansion will be easier and more sustainable,” Efily said. (DK/ZH)
